"Those who flow as life flows need no other force." - Lao Tzu
At Entheos Chiropractic, our approach to healing begins with the central nervous system and the vitalistic life force that is expressed through this system. We believe a fundamental cornerstone of health is to have a clear, regulated and robust nervous system, free of interference. Because the nervous system is how we sense life, communication between brain and body and body back to brain is important and needs to be as clear and efficient as possible.
Where does interference come from?
Interference can manifest from a multitude of ways, including physical, mental, emotional and spiritual trauma. When the experiences we have in life are not fully integrated, we have the potential to become subluxated.
The innate intelligence that animates the body provides a vital life force that holds the capacity for self-regulation, self-healing and adaptation. When the nervous systems ability to adapt and assimilate is overloaded, we begin to develop strategies or patterns that are held within the system. Over time, these patterns lead to a lack of coherence in the brain-body pathway, which in Chiropractic, we call subluxation.
What is subluxation?
Sub: under/less than, lux: light/illumination; less than light
Subluxation is an imbalance or distortion in your neurology, which ultimately stems from a diminished ability to adapt or integrate the stress of life. Over time, this leads to a diminished ability of your nervous system to interpret incoming (afferent) information, and subsequently diminishing our output (efferent) pathways.
Rather than treating symptoms, our attention is centered around addressing these underlying interference or subluxation patterns, in order to allow for greater adaptation and integration through the nervous system. Allowing the intelligence held within you to invite us in and show us were the need is. Utilizing models of tone or tension held within the brain, spinal cord, meninges and peripheral nerves, as well as, any physiologically or anatomically related subsystems, we work to unwind these patterns using the Chiropractic adjustment (force). Each adjustive force is unique to you in that moment, and can range from light touch to a more dynamic (HVLA) type force.
